What the Vikings bought and sold
Some Vikings who didn't raid traded. They exchanged goods and bought things from other countries. From Western Europe they bought sword - blades, chain - mail, coats, salts, wine, glass pottery and jewellery. From Eastern Europe and Russia they bought silk, furs, spices, more glassware, drinking vessels, beads and precious stones. Also from Russia they bought amber, wax and honey. They got wool and falcons from Iceland. Traders in the Scandinavian countries were able to give the Vikings walrus tusks, furs, timber, bone combs and iron.
